Auction Update
posted by Logan
Hey Crew:
Just wanted to give you an update on how the auction is doing and where we are with things. So today was a HUGE boost thanks to the partners with EPIC Games. They donated two lancers from the game Gears or War and had multiple members of their staff sign them. Then with posts on their twitter, facebook, forums and other such places the items together raised over $1400 dollars to go towards Childs Play Charity. now on top of those items we also had some from Eve Online, the Microsoft community, Bungie and so many others bringing our unofficial total over $8000 We are creeping closer and closer to $9000 with Sean's helmet already tipping the scales at $1025 on its current bid.
So I want to say thank you very much to everyone involved and everyone coming out to see the items, those who are bidding and congratulations to the many that have already won. We have one person in particular who has won 6 items, and says they are not done yet trying for more. In the end it is all going to the kids, so I wish you all the best of luck in your bids.

Half way there

Hey crew:
my original idea was to update this site daily, gaming news, reviews, comics, schedule and even some machinima. Well what can I say but a rather huge auction has gotten in the way. I am going to save the rest of the thank you till after this is done, but I will say I appreciate the huge spread of the word to everyone world wide about this event.
Numbers thus far:
22 items sold
23 items active
Nearly $2000 worth of prizes paid for
Estimated $5000 still left on the table right now on bids active and bids not yet paid for
With the pace we are going, we look to be pulling in $9000 before this is over. With all this money going to Charity, it proves that even when times are tough, people find a way to give. It doesn't hurt that there are so many amazing items included.
See you with tomorrows update. Don't forget to follow us on Twitter.

Auction Day 2
posted by Logan
Hey Crew:
If you have not heard about what is going on, well GGM is taking the time out of it's regular scheduled program to run an auction in partner with RVBCanWest for the benefit of Childs Play Charity. If you look to an older post you will see the number of people who have contributed to this auction. We will continue to thank these people each and every day, and I can say with great pride that we are having people contact us already about the next auction. The plan currently is to hold these auctions twice a year first in the Spring then in the Fall. The reason for this is that there are MORE then enough amazing people that want to be involved, and we feel it should give us enough time to raise 40+ outstanding items to bring to the public to consume, with a charity in mind.
Without further wait, here is your total for Day 2*
$3,700 US
This is with a few items ending in less then 18 hours.
XBOX 360 Faceplate FEAR 2 Monolith/Warner Bros
XBOX 360 Halo ODST Controller SIGNED by Bungie Studios
If you have any questions about these items, please send us a message on EBAY. We will have an official "AUCTION" email set up later today, but for now it all comes through general@good-game-media.com
We want to make sure the top dollar for this product is raised for charity, and someone gets to enjoy these one of a kind items.
Don't have the money, don't care for any of the products? No worries, all we ask is send the link of
http://www.rvbcanwest.com/p/auction.html
to your friends and co-workers, or link them to this journal.
All auctions will ship world wide, as long as your payments go through, you can order from anywhere. All products will be shipped within 72 hours of payment recieved. If you have questions about shipping cost, please look at www.CanadaPost.ca for shipping rates, and if you are local, we certainly encourage pick up to save all shipping costs.
If you have any more questions, please send them though.
Thank you, and Good Luck with your bids.

Childs Play Charity Auction
posted by Logan
Hey Crew:
So if you were at RvBCanWest in Vancouver this last weekend, you saw there was an auction both in the theatre and there was talk of one coming online... Well here are some details if you were not there and are wondering what is going on. In December at the last ChildsPlayCharity auction ball, I decided I wanted my company to be a part of the charity and do what it could to raise money for kids in Hospitals. I reached out to friends of mine at NCSoft, CPPGames, Bungie and XBOX, while donating over $500 myself, my friends started sending items and signing them. Laird agreed that this was a great idea and on behalf of Good-Game-Media went and contacted people he knew from all over the gaming world, and also donated some items from his personal collection.
Now although I was hoping to have this project online before RvBCanWest, with moving the home and office with Luke McKay, things fell behind.
Now that the computer is out of the box, we have internet, my excuses are all gone. So with that I have the basic shell of the auction site up, and hosted through our partner RVBCanWest.
Auctions will be staggered in time so people can bid for multiple items, multiple items can be combined to save shipping, and anything purchased on a buy it now, will also include free shipping. 100% of all profits will be donated to Childs Play Charity at the end of the year at the Penny Arcade Charity Dinner.
I am told that Laird and Dom along with all the guests of RvBCanWest raised over $500 alone in silent auctions at the event, congratulations guys, that's amazing. The money from that event will be presented at PAX Prime on behalf of RvBCanWest.
So there you have it, the site is up and being updated daily. There are a TON of amazing items, and I want to say thank you to so many people and you can look forward to updates on the following pages:
